Jonathan McCrae, 37, was arrested on May 24 and appeared in Quebec court before being released on certain conditions, Laval police said.

His henchmen, Denis Guernon, Denis Lavallée, Sébastien St-Hilaire and Mario Savage, aged 44 to 59, had been arrested a week earlier.

The investigation, which began in October 2021, uncovered the break-in and theft plan for cargo stored at various locations in Laval and Montreal.

SPL investigators quickly connected the five suspects to the theft of trucks and trailers full of air conditioners totaling nearly $1.2 million.

Searches on May 17 and June 29, 2022 resulted in police seizing supplies including $1 million worth of stolen vehicles and guns.

A utility trailer, nine Freghliner heavy-duty trucks, an SUV and a GMC Sierra truck were seized by investigators.
