The Laval Police Service (SPL) reports that many other people have filed complaints against this man since his alleged actions made headlines early last month.

Investigators from the SPL’s Sex Crimes Squad first reported on September 8 that Chukri El Habre, 57, admitted a person to his mechanic’s workshop on February 3 because they had a problem with his car.

The owner of the facility then asked him to take him for a test drive to determine the problem with the vehicle. It appears that once in the passenger compartment the person engaged in sexual touching and that he later committed more acts in the office of his repair shop.

The suspect was arrested on May 17 on sexual assault charges in connection with the case. He was released on several respectful conditions.

However, on Wednesday, investigators re-arrested Chukri El Habre for several other cases related to crimes of a sexual nature committed over the past decade. The defendant was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday to answer charges of sexual harassment, false imprisonment, criminal harassment and indecent acts.

In order to be able to contact other potential victims and witnesses, the SPL announced the new arrest on Thursday.
