Laval police just made a record seizure of nearly $200,000 worth of heroin, police said Thursday morning.

Investigators from the Laval Police Department (SPL) Organized Crime Division conducted two searches in the past two weeks as part of an investigation into a drug distribution network.
The seizures took place in two residential buildings in Chomedey, Laval. Police had received leads on a man linked to a criminal network possibly involved in the distribution of heroin and cocaine. According to authorities, the suspect was a supplier to “established” drug dealers.

Conducted in two phases, the operation allowed investigators to seize several bladed weapons, cocaine and a record amount of heroin. The balance sheet amounts to a value of almost 200,000 US dollars.
This major operation required the support of physical surveillance, intervention group, Azimuth, dog handlers, forensic identification and analysis and intelligence squads and is part of the Wick project, police said in a press release.
