While China-US relations seem to have found the right conditions to de-escalate following US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s visit to Beijing, tensions between the West and Moscow show no sign of abating.
Just look at the words of the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov: “Through NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Westerners are saying they are against freezing the conflict in Ukraine. That means they want to fight. Then let them fight, we are ready» said the head of Moscow diplomacy during a meeting with journalists in Minsk, Belarus.
The Kremlin’s armed forces have stationed new weapons in Belarus. Maneuvers that US President Joe Biden said would confirm that Vladimir Putin’s threat to use tactical nuclear weapons in the conflict in Ukraine was “real”.
