Adélia Soares says she was only contacted to prepare the positioning of the site; Jéssica Vitória died after alleged fake news
Lawyer Adélia Soares explained on Saturday (December 23, 2023) via her Instagram profile that they do not represent the Choquei Entertainment profile in court in the case of fake news publications about the alleged affair of Jéssica Vitória Canedo and the comedian Whindersson Nunes become. The 22yearold died on Friday (December 22) after being subjected to several hate attacks online.
“Remember that everyone, even if they have made a mistake, deserves technical assistance from a lawyer,” said Adélia. The lawyer also called on people to “let the justice of men and God play a role,” as condemnation is “not the business” of the people.
According to her, the demonstration occurred “in the name of the transparency” she “always” had with her supporters and after observing “a herd effect.” Adélia also stated that the page administrators only contacted the office to formulate the statement, calling the case “sensitive.” The lawyer is known for defending famous personalities and for having participated in the reality show Big Brother Brasil on TV Globo in the 2016 edition.
On Saturday (December 23), Choquei said in a note signed by the lawyer that there were “no irregularities in the disclosure of the information provided” about the alleged affair between Jéssica and Whindersson. According to the profile, “if one acts in good faith and regularly follows the proposed activities, there is no responsibility for the actions taken.” The statement was posted on the site's Instagram profile.
The site said it wanted to “emphasize that all publications were made on the basis of the data available at the time and in strict compliance with the usual activities related to the exercise of the right to information.” Without mentioning the young woman's death, they said they “deeply” regret the incident.

Jéssica's mother, Inês Oliveira, also posted a request on the young woman's profile to stop spreading the attacks and “lies”. Friends of the young woman suspect that she may have committed suicide on Friday (December 22nd). However, this information has not yet been officially confirmed.
