The 37-year-old veteran will be playing his 15th season of his career in the Canadian Football League (CFL) and his fifth in Vancouver. The player, who played for the Montreal Alouettes from 2011-14, had 36 of his 39 field goals and 54 of his 55 post-touchdown conversions last season.

“I couldn’t be more grateful to the Lions organization for allowing me to continue playing at home,” Whyte said in a statement. We’ve made great strides with this group in 2022 and I can’t wait to go back in search of another Gray Cup ring.”

Since making his league debut in 2010, the 13th leading scorer in CFL history has netted 418 field goals in 186 regular-season games.
