Lea Michele shares her two-year-old son “isn’t out of the woods yet” after being hospitalized

Lea Michele updated her fans via her Instagram Stories on Saturday about the health of her two-year-old after he was hospitalized earlier this week.

The Glee graduate, 36, who announced on Wednesday that her son Ever was in the hospital with a “scary health issue,” opened up to her fans as she sat backstage in her dressing room ahead of her Broadway performance in Funny Girl.

The star has been missing shows to focus on her family but revealed on Friday that she will be returning to her starring role as Fanny Brice at the weekend.

Dressed in a costume, the singer uploaded a video and began with, “Hello everyone. I’ll say a quick hello from my dressing room. I’ll be back at Funny Girl tonight.’

The mother-of-one continued: “I’m really happy to be back. It’s been a really long week and we’re still not quite out of the woods with our son, but he’s going in a good direction and we’re really, really grateful.

Michele welcomed her son Ever Leo, whom she shares with husband Zandy Reich, in August 2020. The two lovebirds had tied the knot a year earlier in 2019.

After giving an update on her son’s health, Lea opened up about her own status to her fans. “I am happy to be back here. I think I have a cold because I haven’t slept at all for the past week. But I’m really happy to be back with my Funny Girl family.

The performer then expressed her gratitude for all the “love” and well wishes she had received over the past few days.

“And I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for so much love and support this week. I really appreciated it,” she said.

Closing the short role, Lea then added: “For everyone who’s here tonight, I’m really excited and we’re going to do well. So, okay, I love you all.’ She then blew a quick kiss towards her camera before the clip ended.

Earlier Wednesday, the Broadway star revealed on her Instagram Stories that her two-year-old was suddenly hospitalized and shared a photo of her son resting in a bed with a stuffed animal near him.

“I’m so sorry but unfortunately I won’t be on @funnygirlbwy today. We are in the hospital with our son and have a scary health issue that I need to be here for,” she wrote in a caption above the picture.

Despite disclosing the health issue, the actress added, “I’m so sorry. Please send us some love and strength.’

Staying positive: “I'm really happy to be back. It's been a really long week and we're still not quite out of the woods with our son, but he's going in a good direction...

Soon after, the show’s own Instagram page also announced, “Lea Michele will be absent from both the matinee and the evening performance today, Wednesday March 22nd. Julie Benko will be your fabulous fanny!”

On Friday, the actress once again took to her Instagram Stories to express her gratitude for all the “well wishes” she and her family had received, followed by a quick update.

“We are bringing our boy home from the hospital soon. Thank you to all the great doctors and hospital staff. I’ll be back on the @Funnygirlbwy stage this weekend,” followed by a white heart emoji.

The star also shared a photo of Ever lying in a hospital bed surrounded by stuffed animals.

Lea has been open about her son in the past, recently telling People in September last year that if performing was his passion, she would wholeheartedly support him following in Ever’s footsteps.

“I would support anything he wanted to do that brought him joy and made him happy,” she said.

“Do I want him to go to college and maybe graduate? Yes, definitely. But I would fully support him,” Michele added to the outlet at the time.

Grateful: “For everyone who is here tonight, I am very happy and we will do well. So ok I love you all,
