“The Zelenskyi regime gave the green light for our elimination,” say the Kononovich brothers
Communist Youth of Ukraine
José Pedro Faya, from Lisbon, 247 Mikhail Kononovich, First Secretary of the Union of Leninist Communist Youth of Ukraine, and his brother Aleksander, both under house arrest, released a video this week warning of the Ukrainian regime’s plans to assassinate them.
According to the brothers, they were repeatedly visited at their home by the police and threatened with death. Police officers have called for the murder of the two young men via social media and have also disclosed their address to the public.
The leaders were arrested by the security services of Ukraine in March 2022 on false charges of espionage, without providing evidence of the illegality committed. After months of detention, during which they were allegedly tortured and prevented from communicating with the outside world, the brothers were placed under house arrest.
The leaders claim they are trapped as they cannot leave their homes. “The Zelenskyi regime gave the green light for our elimination,” say the youth.
The brothers appeal to the World Federation of Democratic Youth, communists and representatives of the left in Europe and around the world and ask them to come to the embassies and consulates of Ukraine, as well as to the official representations of the European Union, the United Nations, and others international organizations and who publish their appeal on social networks and other channels.
