With just a few weeks left until the end of League 1, FIFA published a document in which it announced a drastic sanction against a first division team that would harm them for the next season. This is the Unión Comercio, which was denounced by its former coach Jaime de la Pava for having debts to the Colombian coach.
The highest body in world football has decided to punish the “Poderoso de Altomayo” with a ban on new signings for next season. In this way, the Tarapotino team, fighting for relegation, will not be able to add reinforcements in 2024. This measure will be withdrawn as long as Unión Comercio pays the debt Jaime de la Pava.
“We would like to inform the parties that FIFA has imposed a ban on the international registration of new players from today. Furthermore, in accordance with the above-mentioned decision, the relevant member association is requested to immediately request from Club Unión Comercio a ban on the registration of new players at national level,” reads the FIFA document published by journalist César Augusto Londoño.
