Lebanon almost a million passengers in the first months of 2023

In February, 408,582 travelers used the capital’s terminal, of which 198,998 entered the nation.

The number of domestic and foreign airline flights reached 3,709 in the 28 days of last month, of which 1,858 departed from Rafic Hariri and 1,851 landed on the national runway.

In January, the airport handled a total of 4,490 flights and handled 492,835 passengers.

Lebanon expects half a million visitors during the winter season by the end of this month, in line with the high number of airline tickets and the number of scheduled flights, the Ministry of Tourism announced earlier.

In 2022, the Nation of Cedars surpassed five million passengers to confirm that Beirut International Airport is among the busiest in the region, behind Dubai in the United Arab Emirates and Istanbul in Türkiye.

Located nine kilometers from the center of the capital, Rafic Hariri is the country’s only operational commercial airport and the hub of national carrier Middle East Airlines.
