The State Department warned of repeated threats by Israeli officials to launch a preemptive war against Lebanon, in addition to the ongoing violation of Resolution 1701 and national sovereignty.
In this scenario, he explained that Israeli transgressions and disregard for international regulations are factors that constitute provocations that fuel the current conflict and undermine efforts for security and stability.
After nearly a week of calm, gunfire increased on both sides of the southern border as Israeli bombing resumed and the Lebanese resistance responded.
