Lebanon faces a golden opportunity, says Hezbollah leader

During a televised speech marking the 40 Days of Imam Hussein (a revered leader of Shia Muslims), the head of the Lebanese Islamic Resistance stressed that Israel’s exploitation of the Karish camp cannot be allowed until Lebanon meets your demands. Nasrallah pointed out that “we gave a real opportunity for negotiations with the aim of extracting gas from Lebanon and did not look for any problems”.

Hezbollah’s top figure asserted that although she was not involved in the talks on demarcation of the sea borders with Tel Aviv, “the resistance’s eyes and missiles are on Karish.”

He stressed that if a confrontation is forced, it will be absolutely inevitable, since Israelis, Americans and others have enough data on the seriousness of the resistance and “they don’t joke about it.”

Regarding the local scenario, Nasrallah expressed hope for the formation of the new government and stressed the need to make concessions and hold the presidential elections on their inaugural date.

Hezbollah’s secretary-general said that the country’s next president must have as broad a political and popular base as possible to fulfill his legal and constitutional role.

Commenting on the recent raids on several Lebanese banks, Nasrallah insisted that security treatment is not enough and officials must form an emergency cell to find real solutions.

At the regional level, the Hezbollah leader hailed the realignment of ties between the Palestinian Hamas movement and Syria, calling it a solid position and the right move to strengthen resistance forces and fight the occupation.

During his speech, Nasrallah paid tribute to the victims of the Sabra and Shatila massacre committed during the 1982 invasion by Lebanese factions allied with the Israeli forces.

He described the event as the largest and most gruesome genocide in the history of the Arab-Israeli conflict, after killing 1,900 Lebanese martyrs and nearly 3,000 Palestinians, in addition to hundreds of people who have disappeared.
