Legado Del Fantasma Debuts New Member on WWE SmackDown

Legado Del Fantasma’s Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro made their “WWE SmackDown” debuts this week at the show’s season premiere.

However, Elektra Lopez, who ran the stable during her “NXT” days, was conspicuous by her absence. Instead, Escobar & Co. was joined by former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Zelina Vega, who has been sidelined since April with an injury that required surgery.

Legado made himself known by ambushing them former “NXT” rivals Hit Row, who were in the middle of their performance for a match against unannounced opponents. Escobar, wearing a mask, dropkicked Ashante “Thee” Adonis and Wilde & Cruz connected Del Toro with a double dropkick to Top Dollar. Just as B-Fab Top checked Dolla, Vega sprinted off the top rope with a rocket dropkick and followed him with a big knee to B-Fab’s face. Del Toro and Wilde then finished Top Dolla with a double-team splash.

The ambush was followed by Escobar, Wilde and Del Toro, who unmasked in the ring as Vega stated she was back and she wasn’t returning alone. The promo ended with Escobar saying: “We are Legado Del Fantasma. Smackdown is ours.

Escobar’s arrival on WWE’s main roster was anticipated following his exit from “NXT” in August. However, there were many question marks regarding the rest of his stable and whether Wilde & Del Toro would join him on the main roster. Escobar graduated from NXT after losing to Tony D’Angelo on the August 16th NXT Heatwave special. As per the agreement, Escobar had agreed to leave the brand, leaving the remaining Legado members with no choice but to serve D’Angelo’s family.

A week after Escobar’s “NXT” departure, it was teased that Legado would move into WWE’s main roster as a unit, when Escobar met his stablemates in the parking lot and asked them, “You didn’t think I’d leave without you, did you.” ? La Familia stays together. So are you ready to go?”

As previously mentioned, multiple reports on Friday indicated that Vega had been unveiled as the newest member of the Legado stable. As such, fans who read the Dirt Sheets this week probably weren’t too surprised to see Vega accompanying Escobar & Co. on Friday’s show.
