Leleco Barbosa, son of Chacrinha, mourns the death of India Potira: “It was a spectacular chacrete”

Maria da Glória Aguiar da Silva earned the nickname that made her famous while working at the “Cassino do Chacrinha” between 1970 and 1978 under the direction of Abelardo Barbosa, known as Chacrinha (19171988). Leleco Barbosa, son of Velho Guerreiro and director of the attraction for 35 years, told gshow that he was mourning the death of India Potira.

In 2013, India Potira took part in the telenovela Amor à Vida as herself alongside Tatá Werneck and Elizabeth Savalla. The artist was also featured in Beleza Pura (2008), in a scene recorded in the extinct Caldeirão do Huck.

To be honest, she’s said in several interviews that she fell in love with and became involved with a drug dealer, which led to her being arrested for drug trafficking connections and being released from prison in 1990. India Potira also admitted that she was a drug addict and that she was a prostitute for some time.
