Liam Neeson reveals he felt ‘uncomfortable’ during interview on The View

Liam Neeson felt “uncomfortable” during his recent interview with The View.

The 70-year-old actor appeared on the talk show last week to promote his starring role in Marlowe, but things took an awkward turn.

The segment focused primarily on presenter Joy Behar’s love for Neeson and included a montage of clips showing her making on-air comments such as, “I just want my ashes to be sprinkled on Liam Neeson.”

Referring to his famous film Taken, one of her co-hosts even joked, “Joy wants to be taken from you,” which prompted her to quote Neeson’s famous line from the film, “I’m going to find you and kill you.”

But while the audience laughed, Neeson didn’t seem to see the funny side of the comment and looked rather stoned.

In response to the interview, he told Rolling Stone: “I was in the dressing room having a cup of tea and turning on the TV and I was like oh this is going to be great. You talk about gun violence in America, and I agree that it’s an American problem.

“I go on stage and join the ladies at intermission and I congratulated them on this discussion.

“And then our segment starts and it’s just all this shit with Joy and Liam Neeson and a crush and I’ve known Whoopi for years and Joy a little bit but I just wasn’t impressed.

“I’m uncomfortable in situations like this, you know?”

However, he added that after the awkward interaction, he managed to strike up a “good, intelligent conversation” with co-host Sunny Hostin, 54.

It comes after it was revealed that Liam will star in new thriller The Riker’s Ghost, directed by The Crying Game mastermind Neil Jordan.

The legendary actor will play a convict about to be released who is then forced to free a terrorist from prison, reports Deadline.

The film is slated to begin filming in September 2023 and was written by Sean O’Keefe and Brian Rudnick.

The project sees Neeson reuniting with Jordan and Parallel Film producer Alan Moloney after the trio worked on the thriller Marlowe.

Jordan said, “This is a unique take on prison escapes. A mere ride from incarceration to freedom by someone who just wants to end their sentence.

“The reluctant fugitive is played by Liam Neeson and I can’t wait to explore this character with him.

Moloney added: “I’m thrilled to be working with Neil and Liam again. We assembled an elite team to support Neil’s writing and directing vision. This one will get you on the edge of your seat.’

Moloney, Endurance Media’s Steve Richards and Planet Of The Apes director Rupert Wyatt will produce, with Jake Katofsky and Susan Mullen serving as co-producers.

Neese and Richards memorably collaborated on the action film Non-Stop, which was a box-office hit in 2014.

This comes days after Neeson launched a bizarre tirade against Conor McGregor while offering his thoughts on UFC fights.

Although the actor is believed to have never met the 34-year-old MMA fighter, he admitted he had some very strong opinions about his fellow Irishman.

He even went so far as to say that Conor gave Ireland a bad name, derisively referring to the 1.75m tall athlete as a “little leprechaun”.

When asked by Men’s Health for his thoughts on the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Liam replied, “I can’t stand UFC. It’s like a bar fight to me. I know practitioners say, “No, you are wrong – the months of training we do…”

“Why don’t you just grab a beer bottle and hit the other guy on the head? This is the next level of the UFC. I hate it.’

Calling Conor directly, he continued: “That little leprechaun Conor McGregor gives Ireland a bad name. I know he’s fit and I admire him for that. But I can’t take it.’

Web contacted Conor’s representatives for comment at the time.
