Elon Musk has named Linda Yaccarino as Twitter’s new CEO, and the former NBCUniversal ad executive is finally breaking her silence on the social media platform.
“Your vision to create a better future has long inspired me. I’m excited to help bring that vision to Twitter and transform this company together!” Yaccarino tweeted in a message thanking Musk for the opportunity.
After Yaccarino made global headlines as the new Twitter boss, she noticed that her follower count was growing exponentially and acknowledged the increase.
“I see I’ve got quite a few new followers… I’m not as productive as @elonmusk (yet!), but I’m just as committed to the future of this platform,” she added. “Your feedback is vital to this future. I’m here for everything Let’s keep the conversation going and build Twitter 2.0 together!”

Musk previously announced Yaccarino’s hiring and explained how their roles at the helm of the company would differ.
“I’m delighted to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter!” Musk tweeted. @LindaYacc will mainly focus on business operations while I focus on product design and new technologies. I look forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the everything app.”
Following Musk’s message, some users expressed concern about their “freedom of speech” being violated, citing an interview Yaccarino conducted with the Twitter owner weeks earlier. The Twitter user posits that Yaccarino would push initiatives to restrict users’ freedom of speech in order to appease advertisers.
Musk replied: “I understand your concerns, but don’t judge too soon. I am fully committed to defending freedom of expression, even if it means losing money.”
