Linda Yaccarino thanks Musk for the opportunity and shares her enthusiasm for “building Twitter 2.0” – The Hill

Twitter’s new CEO Linda Yaccarino on Saturday thanked Elon Musk for her new role at the social media company and shared her excitement about “building Twitter 2.0.”

“Thanks @elonmusk! “Your vision of creating a better future has long inspired me,” says Yaccarino tweeted. “I’m excited to help bring this vision to Twitter and transform this company together!”

“I see I have quite a few new followers,” she added in her thread. “I’m not as productive as @elonmusk (yet!), but I’m just as committed to the future of this platform.”

“Your feedback is vital to this future. I’m here for anything,” Yaccarino continued. “Let’s keep the conversation going and build Twitter 2.0 together!”

Musk announced Friday that Yaccarino would take over the position of CEO while taking on a new role as chairman and chief technology officer. The billionaire had already promised in December that he would step down as CEO “as soon as I find someone stupid enough to take the job”.

“I am delighted to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter!” he tweeted on Friday. “@LindaYacc will mainly focus on business operations while I focus on product design and new technologies.”

“I look forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the everything app,” he added.

Yaccarino previously served as chairman of the company’s global advertising and partnerships at NBCUniversal. She worked for the media company for more than 10 years.

NBCU said in a press release on Friday that Yaccarino is leaving, effective immediately.

“It has been an absolute honor to be a part of Comcast NBCUniversal and to lead the most incredible team. We have transformed our company and the entire industry – and I am so proud of what we have achieved together and grateful to my colleagues and mentors,” she wrote in the press release.
