In the new film, Cady, who was originally played by Lindsay Lohan but is now played by Angourie Rice, takes part in a talent competition. In the scene, a character speaks the phrase, “We’re going back to red.” The burning step from 2000 is back.”

The line is believed to refer to a 2006 comment made by oil heir and Paris Hilton's ex Brandon Davis, when he called Lindsay Lohan a “burning crotch” in a video for TMZ. This sexist and vulgar remark led to the end of the friendship between Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton.

So it's no wonder that the 37-year-old actress with striking red hair didn't appreciate the nod to her years as a party girl. “Lindsay was very hurt and disappointed by the innuendo in the film,” her publicist told People earlier this week.

Especially since Lindsay Lohan was apparently unaware that this “joke” was in the film and was surprised when she attended a screening last week with the film's screenwriter, Tina Fey.
