Singer Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of rock ‘n’ roll legend Elvis Presley, died Thursday at the age of 54, her mother told American media. “It is with a heavy heart that I share devastating news: my dear daughter Lisa Marie has passed away,” Priscilla Presley wrote in a statement.
The “King’s” daughter was hospitalized on Thursday morning, according to a message previously posted by her mother on social media. According to people site TMZ, which relied on anonymous sources, she had been placed in an induced coma on life support after suffering cardiac arrest. According to the website, Lisa Marie Presley was “unconscious” when her housekeeper discovered her at her home in Calabasas, an affluent Los Angeles suburb, on Thursday morning.

Her ex-husband Danny Keough, who also lives at the property, performed CPR until paramedics arrived and took her to the hospital. The unnamed sources told TMZ that the singer did not attempt suicide. In 2020, her son Benjamin Keough killed himself at age 27, a disappearance that she “devastated,” she wrote in an August 2022 memorial essay.
“She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I know,” her mother welcomed in her press release on the People page, asking to respect the family’s privacy and thanking fans for their “love and… their prayers”.
Without confirming the patient’s identity, Los Angeles firefighters told the press that their teams attended to a woman in her 50s who went into cardiac arrest just after 10:30 a.m. Asked a press secretary by Lisa Marie Presley, AFP did not immediately respond.
Present at the Golden Globes on Sunday
The singer was seen with her mother at the Golden Globes on Tuesday, which honored Austin Butler for his role in the biopic Elvis. The actor, whose larger-than-life incarnation of the rock ‘n’ roll legend was widely acclaimed, dedicated a word to the two women during his onstage speech. “Thank you for opening your hearts, your memories, your home to me. Lisa Marie and Priscilla, I love you guys forever,” he said. At the Access Hollywood microphone, Lisa Marie Presley praised her performance as “more real than nature”.

Lisa Marie Presley was Elvis’ only child. She previously controlled Elvis Presley Enterprises but sold most of her stake to a private equity firm in 2005.
She retained control of Graceland, the Memphis, Tennessee property owned by her father where he was found unconscious in August 1977 before being rushed to the hospital and his death attributed to a heart attack. His father’s toxicology reports revealed high levels of drugs in the rock ‘n’ roll legend’s system.
Lisa Marie Presley has released three albums during her career and is the mother of actor Riley Keough, who starred in Mad Max: Fury Road. In addition to Danny Keough, from whom she divorced in 1994, she was also briefly married to Nicolas Cage, Michael Jackson and actor-songwriter Michael Lockwood.
