(Los Angeles) Lisa Marie Presley, Elvis’ only daughter, died in January of complications from weight-loss surgery, according to an autopsy report released Thursday.

The singer, who passed away suddenly at the age of 54, “died from an intestinal obstruction caused by scar tissue that developed following bariatric surgery several years earlier,” Los Angeles health officials wrote in a press release.
This type of surgery aims to lose weight by removing part of the stomach or by applying a gastric band in overweight people or where diet and exercise have not yielded results.
“The cause of death is natural,” the experts added.
“Therapeutic” and safe levels of the opiate oxycodone were also found in his blood, as well as traces of another pain reliever and a substance used to treat depression, which US media said “did not help in his death.”
The star, who has suffered from opiate and painkiller addictions in the past, was found unconscious at their home on January 12 by her ex-husband Danny Keough.
Mr. Keough, who also resided at the property in Calabasas, an affluent Los Angeles suburb, had been performing cardiac massages until paramedics arrived, reported TMZ.
The singer was very close to her father, who named his private jet “Le Lisa Marie” in her honor, and was only nine years old when the “king” died.
Elvis’ toxicology reports then revealed elevated drug levels in the rock ‘n’ roll legend’s body.
Although Lisa Marie Presley released three albums over the course of her career, she never matched the immense success of her father, one of the most celebrated artists of all time.
During her lifetime, she retained control of Graceland, her father’s mansion in Memphis, Tennessee, which became a place of pilgrimage for fans of the “king.”
