Lisa Rinna shocked Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills fans Thursday when she announced she was leaving the Bravo series after eight seasons.
And two weeks before the big news, Rinna’s husband Harry Hamlin said he thinks her honesty and contempt for injustice often got her into “a lot of trouble” on the show.
‘[Lisa] does her job. Your job is to show up on time and interact honestly and authentically with the people on the show,” he told PEOPLE.

Harry explained that his 59-year-old wife was upset by dishonesty and unjust actions.
“Her hot topic, I suppose, is injustice, or if someone else isn’t being honest, she’ll challenge it.
‘And that means a lot of trouble. But it also helps the show,” noted the 71-year-old actor.
Harry then defended his wife against misconceptions about her character stemming from her time at RHOBH.

With such a strong personality, Harry understands that Lisa will have some haters, but he believes most viewers will like the soap opera star.
“There’s always going to be 50 percent of people who like you, 50 percent of people who hate you,” he explained. “I think the like-hate factor is a lot bigger — like 80 percent [of] People like Lisa, 20 percent don’t.”

The fight came during a trip to Amsterdam after Lisa questioned Kim’s sobriety.
Kim, not appreciating Lisa’s concern, replied, “Let’s talk about the husband,” seemingly referring to Harry.
“Don’t ever talk about my husband!” Lisa retorted angrily, jumping up from the table and lunging at Richards, then threw a drink in her face and smashed a wine glass on the table.

Lisa confirmed her departure from RHOBH on Thursday in a statement shared with PEOPLE. It comes after a drama-plagued twelfth season that documented the ongoing feud between her and castmate Kathy Hilton.
“This is the longest job I’ve held in my 35-year career and I’m grateful to everyone at Bravo and everyone involved with the series,” Lisa told the outlet. “It’s been eight years of fun and I look forward to what’s to come!”
It was noted that after their contract expired last season, Lisa and Bravo “decided together not to return to RHOBH”.
Lisa signed on for The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills in 2014 ahead of the show’s fifth season.
