This comes after Lisa bravely spoke out about her “many fertility issues” during an appearance on Tuesday’s Lorraine.

The presenter revealed on live TV that she suffered a devastating miscarriage following a violent attack from an abusive ex-boyfriend.

Of the incident, Lisa told ITV presenter Lorraine: “I went to the toilet and was bleeding but I had to keep going.” That’s something I had never spoken about, my many fertility issues. But you have to be positive.’

Lisa opens up about her past in her new book, Just Getting Started, and reveals an ex left her with lifelong injuries and scoliosis.

In quotes received by The Sun, she recalled suffering a black eye, broken arm and bruises from her attacker when she was just 19 years old.

She wrote, “He held me against a wall, both hands around my throat, my feet dangling off the floor, and he squeezed my neck and strangled me until I thought I was going to die.”

After becoming pregnant, Lisa explained that she made the difficult decision to terminate the pregnancy because she didn’t want to give birth to a child “with a father like that”.

She told Lorraine, “It didn’t feel right.” It was the wrong relationship, sometimes I look back and think what ifs. But I didn’t want to be attached to that person.’

Lisa described how she later suffered from another boyfriend’s violence after she managed to escape from her previous relationship.

At the age of 41, the TV personality found out she was pregnant again but was stuck in a cycle of dating “inappropriate men” on and off.

Lisa said early scans showed the baby’s heartbeat was weak and not growing as it should.

Strikingly, she recalled being “violently assaulted” by her partner and suffering a miscarriage on her way to work.

“I am convinced that the reason for my miscarriage was partly due to the quality of the eggs, but also because my partner attacked me in the street the night before, shaking me violently and throwing me against some metal shutters in the front of the shop .” She said.

Lisa’s new book aims to help other women, especially those going through menopause. She spoke about the stigma of talking about menopause and taking hormone replacement therapy (HRT) as a treatment lately.

She explained, “I want women to realize that we’re in charge of our lives.” Menopause can be a blip and then we can move on.

“I didn’t expect the book to be so personal, but it just flowed out of me.” I had to process things. “My darkest point was that I was so low and now I know it was because of my hormones, but there were also things from the past that I had to process.”

In an interview with Women’s Health UK, the TV and radio presenter reflected on how she was managing her symptoms after entering perimenopause at the age of 44.

She shared how HRT has “really helped” her and why she’s supporting a campaign to make it more accessible.

Lisa told the magazine: “I’m part of the Menopause Mandate campaign, which is calling for HRT to be free on the NHS in England, as it is in Scotland and Wales.”

“Ever since I went into perimenopause at age 44, HRT has really helped me, but there’s still a certain stigma attached to it – much like talking about menopause in general.”
