If you've watched episodes of Little House on the Prairie dozens of times, you may have missed one detail about Laura Ingalls. Did you notice that it's not actress Melissa Gilbert playing her in a scene? Zoom in on this unusual detail.
Several reruns of Little House on the Prairie on French television delight millions of fans every year. And for good reason, this cult series from the 70s and 80s has captivated several generations of viewers. However, like any legendary work, it contains a number of inconsistencies, errors and even unusual details.
Laura, is that you in Little House on the Prairie?
So if you watch episode 8 of Little House on the Prairie Season 7 carefully, you'll notice that for a brief moment, an actress other than Melissa Gilbert plays the iconic role of Laura Ingalls. Right at the beginning of the episode, when the bell rings and the students enter the classroom, we can see the teacher's back. Then she closes the door and gets ready to teach her lesson.

However, as the IMDb site points out, when Laura's back is shown, you can see that she is not being played by Melissa Gilbert, but by a stunt double who is simply wearing a wig that resembles the character's hair. This is especially true when she turns around to go into the classroom, as we can see a woman's face other than the star's.
This isn't the first time something like this has happened on Little House on the Prairie, as in episode 12 of season four, an actress other than Katherine MacGregor plays the role of Harriet Oleson from behind. Neither seen nor known…or almost.
