- Palestinian Hamas and Russian President Vladimir Putin each want to “destroy” democracies, Joe Biden said Thursday evening in a very celebratory address to the nation in which he announced he would ask the American Congress to “urgently” provide aid to Israel and to finance Ukraine.
The death toll from Tuesday’s attack on Gaza’s Ahli Arab Hospital is “probably at the lower end of a range between 100 and 300” deaths, according to a statement from American intelligence, excerpts of which was seen by AFP on Thursday .
According to the Gaza Health Ministry, 3,785 people have been killed in Gaza since the war began, most of them women, children and the elderly. According to the ministry, almost 12,500 other people were injured.
Hamas’ deadly October 7 attack killed more than 1,400 people in Israel, mostly civilians. About 200 others were kidnapped. The Israeli military said it had notified the families of 203 prisoners.
