The Israeli army warns residents of southern Lebanon against supporting Hezbollah

The Israeli army dropped leaflets over Kfar Chouba, a village in southern Lebanon, for the first time on Friday, warning residents not to help the powerful pro-Iranian Hezbollah, according to residents' statements. at Agence France Presse (AFP).

“Early Friday morning, a drone hurled leaflets over the village, landing between houses,” a villager told AFP. Another resident reported that the leaflets were thrown twice because the wind blew them away from the border village.

“We inform the residents of southern Lebanon that the terrorist Hezbollah is infiltrating your homes and lands,” the document said. “You must stop this terrorism for your safety,” the text says, warning the population that supporting Hezbollah puts them “at risk.”

Since October 8, the day after the start of the Gaza war between Israel and Hamas, the border between Lebanon and Israel has been the scene of increasingly violent exchanges of fire, particularly between the Israeli army and Hezbollah. The latter claims to have entered the fight to support its ally, the Palestinian Hamas.
