Live, Israel Hamas war: The 11 released Israeli hostages arrived in Israel and 33 Palestinian prisoners were released

  • Eleven Israeli hostages were released by Hamas on Monday evening, November 27th. All have dual citizenship, three are French. Eight of these hostages are minors, the youngest, twin sisters, are three years old.
  • Emmanuel Macron said he was “extremely happy” after the release of three young French-Israeli Eitan Yahalomi (12), Sahar Calderon (16) and Erez Calderon (12). The father of the latter two “remains in the hands of Hamas,” complained Me Patrick Klugman, the lawyer for the Calderon family.
  • Israel announced the release of 33 Palestinian prisoners early Tuesday. The prime minister also approved a list of 50 Palestinian prisoners who are expected to be released in exchange for the re-release of Israeli hostages.
  • Qatar says an agreement has been reached to “extend the humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip by two days.” Hamas confirmed that this pause, scheduled to end on Tuesday morning, will be extended until 6 a.m. Thursday (Paris time). However, Israel has not confirmed the extension of the ceasefire.
  • Hamas said it was “working on a new list of hostages” to be released as part of the ceasefire extension.
  • According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, 150 trucks carrying humanitarian aid have entered the northern Gaza Strip since the ceasefire began. He previously said relief supplies in the trucks included food, water, baby formula and blankets.
  • The French helicopter carrier Dixmude, which is supposed to provide hospital care for the wounded in the Gaza Strip, arrived in the Egyptian port of El-Arich on Monday, a port source told Agence France-Presse, on the fourth day of a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. According to the same source, the ship has “two operating rooms” and about forty beds.
  • The Israeli president reminded Elon Musk in an interview in Israel on Monday of the “big role” the billionaire must play in the fight against hatred of Jews. Mr. Musk had previously visited Kfar Aza, a kibbutz in the south of the country that was attacked by the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas on October 7, along with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
