Live updates between Spain and Costa Rica: Spain sails 3-0 lead – FOX Sports

The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 resumes on Friday (on FS1 and the FOX Sports App) with Spain taking on Costa Rica in a Group C match at New Zealand’s Wellington Regional Stadium and La Roja already leading by 3-0.

Spain is led by veteran Ivana Andrés and has a variety of offensive weapons. But one of them, superstar midfielder Alexia Putellas, was at the beginning on the bench this competition. The development came as a surprise considering Putellas has won the Ballon d’Or twice in a row, is FOX Sports’ top-ranked player in this year’s tournament and is also considered one of the biggest X-Factors of the World Cup.

However, Spain will still have plenty of talent on the field, including star striker Jennifer Hermoso, 2023 Golden Boot contender and FC Barcelona’s all-time top scorer.

On the other hand, Costa Rica is not short of star power. Las Ticas are led by outstanding midfielders Raquel Rodriguez – the national team’s all-time leading scorer with 55 goals – and Katherine Alvarado.
