Widespread air warning across Ukraine, explosions in Kiev
Explosions were heard in Kiev on Friday morning, Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced, after several cities in Ukraine were attacked and a nationwide air alert was sounded around 6 a.m. Paris time.
According to the local military administration, three people were injured in an attack on Konotop in Sumy Oblast, particularly hitting a residential building. In Odessa, a building was also damaged after an overnight strike, but the resulting fire was quickly brought under control, said the city's mayor, Hennady Troukhanov.
Authorities also reported explosions in the Dnipro region. According to the military, “guided missiles” were fired from Russian Tu-95MS bombers.
According to the head of the oblast's military administration, Oleh Synehoubov, there were at least ten attacks in two waves of attacks in the city of Kharkiv, which have not yet caused any casualties. Mayor Ihor Terekhov said the attacks were carried out by S-300 and X-22 missiles and cut off power to transport.
