COUNTER-OFFENSIVE
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said Monday he hoped a successful Ukrainian counter-offensive against Russian forces would force Vladimir Putin into negotiations.
“A successful counter-offensive could do two things: it would strengthen Ukraine’s position at the negotiating table, and it could lead to finally getting Putin to negotiate an end to this war he started,” he said.

According to a new report, ten people died this Monday evening and 41 disappeared in the floods after the Kakhovka dam explosion, Kyiv assures.

Ukraine on Sunday announced the recapture of three villages in the eastern Donetsk region. This is the first territorial gain after the “counter-offensives” mentioned the day before by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
At the same time, three people were killed and at least 23 others injured in a Russian fire on civilians evacuated from flooded areas in southern Ukraine, including on boats, after a hydroelectric dam was destroyed earlier this week, local authorities said.

Kim Jong Un ‘total support’ for Putin
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un promised Pyongyang “full support” for Moscow in a message to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday, state media reported.
