Moscow blames Kyiv

Russia accused Ukraine on Sunday of carrying out a series of attacks in the Bryansk and Belgorod border regions, including damaging five railway carriages and injuring one.

The Investigative Committee announced the opening of an investigation into a Ukrainian attack that injured a civilian in a village in the Bryansk region, almost on the Ukrainian border. However, he did not specify when this attack took place.

Belgorod Region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said drones and missiles attacked several areas of his region on Saturday, in most cases without causing damage or casualties.

FINLAND

Israel’s Defense Ministry announced on Sunday the signing of an agreement to sell the David’s Sling missile defense system to Finland, a new NATO member and Russia’s neighbor. The sale of the “David’s Sling” system to Finland for 317 million euros was “historic,” the ministry estimated in a press release.

“David’s Slingshot is one of the world’s leading systems for intercepting advanced threats, including ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, aircraft and drones,” the same source adds.

As the 31st member of the Atlantic Alliance in April, Finland announced that it wanted to equip itself with this defense system.

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has shaken security in Europe and pushed the Nordic country to join NATO’s protective umbrella. Finland shares a 1,300 kilometer border with Russia.
