PUTIN’S CRITICISM OF NATO
Russian President Vladimir Putin accused NATO of complicity in the conflict in Ukraine by supplying arms to the Kiev armed forces in an interview broadcast on Sunday.
“They are sending weapons worth tens of billions of dollars to Ukraine. It’s really participation,” he said in an interview with Rossiya-1 channel.

ALGERIA REOPENS ITS EMBASSY IN KIEV
Algeria, a traditional Moscow ally, has decided to reopen its embassy in Kiev, which had been closed since Russia invaded Ukraine a year ago, the Algerian foreign ministry said on Sunday. Algiers and Moscow have long-standing privileged relations. In 2021, trade between the two countries reached $3 billion.
“This decision comes within the framework of safeguarding the interests of the Algerian state in this country as well as the national community,” the ministry said in a statement.
The reopening of the embassy, led by a chargé d’affaires, will be “as soon as possible,” the same source added.

WAGNER CLAIMS A VILLAGE NORTH OF BAKHMOUT
The head of the Russian paramilitary group Wagner, Evguéni Prigojine, demanded that his men take over the village of Yaguidné this Saturday. This area is on the northern outskirts of Bakhmout.
The conquest of Yagidné further entrenched the Russian stranglehold on Bakhmout, the village located less than two kilometers from the center of this fortified town. The town of Bakhmout has become a symbol of the struggle for control of the Donbass region in eastern Ukraine.
