Hello and welcome to this livestream. This Sunday, November 26th, we will follow together all the latest information on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
The Ukrainian capital Kiev was attacked on the night of Friday November 24th to Saturday November 25th by the largest Russian drone attack since the invasion of the country began in February 2022, injuring five and depriving dozens of apartment buildings. This bombing takes place in Ukraine on the day of commemoration of the Holodomor, the great famine of the 1930s during the Soviet era, a “genocide” that Kiev says was orchestrated by Joseph Stalin and caused the deaths of millions of Ukrainians.
On Saturday morning, the Ukrainian Air Force said it shot down 71 Iranian-made Shahed attack drones that were launched by Russia overnight. “Most of them were destroyed in the Kiev region,” she said. Five people, including an 11-year-old child, were injured in this attack, local authorities said, asserting that it was the “biggest attack since the start of the invasion” in Ukraine.
France condemned the Russian airstrike “with the utmost firmness” on Saturday. This attack “confirms Russia’s cynicism and boundless violence,” says the Quai d’Orsay.
“These attacks, which specifically target the population and civilian infrastructure of Ukraine, constitute war crimes for which Russia must be held accountable,” the press release said, assuring that “France continues to act resolutely and for so long will stand by Ukraine as necessary.”
