Lives to the limit is a US reality show airing in Italy on Real Time since 2013. Each episode offers a slimming journey for a patient who entrusts himself to the care of Doctor Younan Nowzaradan at his clinic. He provides people with a weight between 250/350 kg with diets and only later resorts to an operation to insert a gastric bypass. These are people who find refuge in food for past trauma, which is why they are also pursued by psychologists. Someone succeeds in business despite various difficulties while others throw in the towel.
Unfortunately, one of them also committed suicide. The man who decided to take his own life is James Bonner. He had managed to lose weight and take control of his life, but something changed so much that he was driven to suicide. As if that wasn’t enough, the television show was contacted by his family members’ attorneys.

James Bonner had desperately turned to the doctor because of his 291 kilos and asked for help. The treatments worked great because the body gave the right stimuli. He reached the weight of 148 kg and even lived with his girlfriend Destiny. However, as was discovered on August 2, 2018, something went wrong died at his home, gun in hand. In reality, he had written a message on social media the day before, which was only correctly interpreted after the suicide.
