Logan Mailloux has the best over Owen Beck

Montreal Canadiens fans will want to keep an eye on the Ontario Junior League (OHL) finals series as it collides two of the organization’s very high hopes. On Thursday night, Logan Mailloux and the London Knights prevailed against Owen Beck and the Peterborough Petes.

In fact, the hometown favorites in Budweiser Gardens gave their rivals nothing and knocked them out 3-0. Mailloux, CH’s 2021 first-round pick, didn’t take a point in that game but finished the game with a +1 difference.

It was far more painful for Beck, who scored two goals for the Knights on the ice, including a goal into an empty net. The midfielder had little to blame for Easton Cowen’s success at the end of the second game as the London players ridiculed the Petes’ defenders in a quick run into the precinct.

Jacob Julien and Ryan Winterton also scored for the winner, while goaltender Zach Bowen made a 24-save shutout.

The second duel of this series will take place again in London on Saturday.
