Logies 2023: Conspiracy theories spread after Sam Pang ‘missing’ on TV after his appearance as host where there are no prisoners

Sam Pang was hailed as one of the best Logies presenters in ages after his debut at last month’s awards show.

But the 49-year-old comedian has not appeared on TV since it aired, leading some fans to believe the comedian was silenced after he attacked some of the biggest names in Australian entertainment during his performance.

For the past week, Sam has had his regular appearances on The Front Bar and Have You Been Paying Attention? lost.

“Did TV Week kick Sam out for some jokes he made at the Logies?” one fan wrote on social media, alongside other viewers asking, “Where’s Sam?”

Sam’s red-hot gags during the logies included such high-profile targets as Channel Nine’s Karl Stefanovic and retired Sunrise presenter David Koch.

Meanwhile, the Adelaide Advertiser reports that on AFL talk show The Front Bar, Seven has explained Sam’s absence, saying the fan favorite is on hiatus and “will be back in a few weeks”.

According to Sam’s reps, the publication said, he purchased travel insurance prior to the Logies broadcast.

Mick Molly, meanwhile, told the Advertiser that Sam is currently on holiday in Italy.

Channel Seven’s Logies show was a ratings blockbuster for the channel, attracting an impressive 877,000 viewers.

And fans are praising Sam for the show’s success. Many first tuned in to the Logies just to see him host the show.

Thanks to his breathtaking series of gags, he was a huge hit with viewers.

Pang had his sights set on everything from gross reality TV to scandalous celebrity personal lives.

Sam’s opening monologue included a dig at Married at First Sight, saying the controversial reality show was “a clear sign that we’re not going to make a species out of it.”

He also joked about the lack of diversity on commercial television.

“I’m the first presenter in the history of the Logies who was half and half – half Channel Seven, half Channel Ten.

“Let’s face it, it’s just great to have an Asian on channel seven who isn’t trying to smuggle live birds through border control.”

But he saved a particularly sharp blow for Karl Stefanovic and his infamous brawl in Noosa involving cricket star Michael Clarke.

“Karl Stefanovic said yes as long as the show is in a park in Noosa,” Sam quipped after joking that the TV presenter was offered the chance to host the Logies.
