“I don’t get hot or cold. I too was raped and saw my parents die before me”. French broadcaster Europe1 reports some chilling excerpts from the confession of Dhabia B., the 24-year-old homeless man arrested in Paris for the brutal murder of the 12-year-old.
Lola Daviet’s death can only be caused by the madness of a 24-year-old woman. Yesterday, October 17, it emerged that the 12-year-old was tortured, raped and locked in a suitcase left in the internal cohort of the gated community where she lived in a Paris suburb.
Dhabia’s shocking confession
Today, France is further shocked by the chilling confession – reported on radio station Europe1’s website – by Dhabia B., the Algerian homeless woman who admitted to torturing and raping her victim before choking to death and then slitting her throat. The woman faces charges of murder, sexual violence, torture and barbarism and is currently in prison.
There are still many gray areas surrounding the investigations of the criminal brigade of the Parisian criminal police. But one thing is certain: last Friday, little Lola’s ordeal ended. It happened somewhere in the 19th arrondissement of Paris between 3.17pm, when Lola was last caught by CCTV cameras in the atrium of her building with Dhabia B., and 4.48pm now, when the latter arrives traveling alone, in possession of two suitcases and a suitcase. The 12-year-old is found in that box in the evening, with her feet bound and her face taped, two large cuts on her neck and two numbers in red ink on the soles of her feet: the ‘0’ on the right foot, the ‘1’ on the left.

Europe1 writes that Dhabia’s confession took place without cameras. During the fourth preliminary hearing, the 24-year-old admitted to taking Lola to her sister’s apartment, where she occasionally stays. He then explains that he asked Lola to take a shower. At that time he sexually abused the girl. He said he “put his hands on the girl’s face”, probably just as Lola was dying of suffocation.
In front of investigators, visibly stunned, he went on to claim he had a coffee and then listened to music before repeatedly stabbing the girl’s body with scissors, almost to the point where she detached her head from the suitcase. A shocking statement that would have left the 24-year-old stunned even at the photos of Lola’s body. “It’s neither hot nor cold. I too was raped and I saw my parents die before my eyes,” she said in front of investigators.
The alleged motive for the Paris crime
As for the motive for the crime, investigators from the Anti-Crime Team said they were fascinated by what, as the hours pass, begins to take the form of a gruesome crime consumed for absolutely pointless reasons: a trivial altercation with the mother of the victim. According to the television station BfmTv, the suspect said so herself. The homeless man actually explained that she was sheltered by her sister (among those arrested) in the building where Lola and her family lived. The teenager’s mother, who is the caretaker of the building with her husband, would have refused the woman an access pass to the property. One track, however, not confirmed.
The suspect was illegally on French territory
“The suspect has no previous convictions as a perpetrator, only as a victim of domestic violence in 2018,” a source close to the investigation told Le Figaro. Dhabia B. came to France legally in 2016 with a student residence permit. After being arrested by police at an airport on August 21, 2022, she was given an OQTF with a 30-day voluntary repatriation period. On this occasion, the lack of a residence permit was reported, according to a source close to the investigation.
