The Lollipop Chainsaw remake has been scrapped in favor of a remaster, which is still planned for next year.
Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP from Japanese studio Dragami Games was originally announced in July 2022 as a remake of Hack’n Slash released in 2012. While the release was originally scheduled for this year, Dragami Games decided last August to postpone it to summer 2024. If the platforms for Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP have not yet been announced, The remake is now a remaster.

Lollipop Chainsaw was originally developed by Grasshopper Manufacture for PS3 and Xbox 360 in a collaboration between game designer Goichi Suda (also known as Suda51) and filmmaker James Gunn. This crazy title features the character Juliet Starling (played by Tara Strong in English and by Eri Kitamura in Japanese in the PS3 version and Yoko Hikasa in the Xbox 360 version in Japanese), a zombie-hunting cheerleader who lives in a… Fictional Californian style vs. zombies fights high school.
At the end of Lollipop Chainsaw, Juliet fights Killabilly and is contacted by Morikawa’s spirit, who gives her advice. Juliet enters Killabilly’s mouth and ends up in the demon’s stomach, where she finds Swan’s headless corpse in its heart. She learns that she must place Nick’s head on Swan’s body to destroy Killabilly, which she cries after the two express their love for each other. Killabilly explodes and in a near-death experience, Nick learns from Morikawa’s spirit that it has been decided that his selfless sacrifice will grant him a new life with a new body. Nick is revived in Morikawa’s body, but neither he nor Juliet really cares. Together, Nick and the Starling family return home to celebrate Juliet’s birthday. If players save all available classmates during the game, Julia’s birthday will be wonderful. However, if they let one or more classmates die, it will be revealed that Julia’s mother has become a zombie.
