L’Oréal buys skin care company Aēsop in a $2.5 billion deal, its biggest acquisition ever

Strategic Wealth Partners investment strategist Luke Lloyd explains why he’s not confident the stock market will continue to rise at Varney & Co.

In a $2.5 billion deal, French beauty empire L’Oréal signed an agreement with Natura & Co to acquire Aēsop, a luxury Australian beauty brand known for its hair, body and skin products.

The acquisition is the French beauty giant’s largest acquisition and is expected to close in the third quarter of this year, subject to regulatory approvals.

L’Oréal’s purchase of Aēsop surpasses L’Oréal’s previous buyout record of US$1.7 billion with the purchase of YSL Beauté in 2008.
