Lorenzo Méndez continues with his unease about what Chiquis tells Rivera in his book Invincible, where he details episodes of abuse by the singer, in addition to his alcohol and drug addictions.
After being quizzed about the Despierta América (Telemundo) program, Chiquis’ estranged husband admitted that during his union with Jenni Rivera’s eldest daughter, he was not at a good moment of his life in terms of mental health, describing it as bad taste Chiquis had will use this time of her life to her advantage. In the past, he has taken advantage of it by repeatedly denying that he had mistreated the 36-year-old artist.
“I haven’t read the book. What I did received a message from a very close person (…) that the name of Lorenzo Méndez, that he says things like abuse or something like that, is absurd. You’ve always inspired me with respect. I find it distasteful that the person you have loved the most in your life is using your sanity,” said the former La Banda El Limón member.
“I’ve said it in all the interviews, I was in a bad moment and for her to use it for personal gain is very distasteful. But that chapter is now closed and it’s good that she’s okay. I’m happy with my life too, and nothing else that they let me be and be happy,” added Méndez, 35.

During the entertainment room, Jomari Goyzo stepped out in defense of Chiquis after hearing Méndez’s statements. The fashionista argued that the singer was a part of Chiquis’ life and that even if she has to share negative aspects of her partner, she has every right to tell about their different experiences.
“Unfortunately for him he is a public figure and they got married publicly. It’s very hard for them to comment on something bad about you, but if it were a reality and it happened… If it didn’t happen, read the book and sue them,” the stylist and TV presenter said.
In her book, Chiquis relates that Lorenzo Méndez once hit her and spat in her face. He also claims that Mendez’s drinking problems have affected their relationship. “He drank and drank Cokes. I was adamant about that and decided to stop investing in his career because it was almost like investing in his addiction,” the businesswoman revealed.
