“I’m doing my physio and I’m fine!” Lorraine Kelly reveals she had keyhole surgery on her shoulder over the holidays

Lorraine Kelly announced that she had keyhole surgery on her shoulder over the holiday on Tuesday.

The 63-year-old presenter admitted she had a “really quiet” Christmas and New Year while recovering from the procedure, but insisted she was “all right”.

Returning to the ITV program after her break, she said: “I had the calmest time ever having minor surgery on my shoulder, it’s been bugging me for ages.”

Lorraine continued: “Thanks to Professor Levy and his brilliant team because oh my god the keyhole surgery is amazing.

“I just had to remove some calcification and a bit of bone and yes I’m doing my physio and I’m fine. But Christmas and New Year we had a really quiet time.’

The TV personality admitted she’s “getting on” with her exercises as she shared a snap of herself with an arm brace.

When asked by Dr. Hilary Jones, on whether she had a drink “for the pain”, confessed to Lorraine: “Yeah, you said it was fine to have a drink or two.

“I’ve actually been very, very well behaved and I’m fine and I’m doing a lot of different exercises, I’m getting there. How amazing is keyhole surgery? It is extraordinary.”

Lorraine also thanked her husband Steve Smith and daughter Rosie Smith, 28, for looking after her.

She said, ‘Rosie and Steve looked after me and Rosie obviously looks after me in the cooking department, doesn’t.’

It comes after Lorraine said she was grateful she wasn’t feeling the “pressure” of seeing her relatives over the holidays.

The presenter revealed her Christmas was “pretty quiet” after she and husband Steve saw loved ones celebrating their wedding anniversary last month.

Lorraine admitted she’s “not worried about taking the time” to see her relatives between Christmas and the New Year, as they normally would.

She said ahead of the holidays: “Christmas will be reasonably quiet. [Our daughter] Rosie threw a surprise party with all our friends and family for our anniversary last month, so luckily we don’t have the pressure to see everyone.

“We’ll still be doing Zoom calls with family.”

This Christmas, Lorraine’s husband took over the cooking because he’s “a much better” cook, so she planned to clean up afterwards.

Before December 25, she said: “We’ll be having dinner later than usual as Rosie will be working until 3pm, Steve is much better at cooking so he’ll take care of everything.
