Loud releases two new songs

Loud today presents an EP consisting of two new songs: you know it yourself And Unrelated to. Performed in a duet with the Congolese rapper Ya Cetidon, these two rhythmic pieces are sure to be part of our summer’s soundtrack.

Several thousand lucky people had the opportunity to hear the premiere of “You know yourself” during Loud’s show at Francos de Montréal last June. The latter had invited his new friend Ya Cetidon to sing with him on stage in front of a record audience.

“I have to say that was one of the highlights of the night,” Loud tells the Journal. Many people have come to tell me. Ya Cetidon, you have to see him live, he puts on an incredible show.

So it’s no wonder that Simon Cliche, aka Loud, decided to contact the Congolese-born artist and offer him a collaboration.

Two universes

Loud sees these two new tracks as completely different universes. The song Rien à faire is slower and deals with couple relationships and is thematically more romantic.

They themselves know how to “go anywhere” by combining the energy of the two artists. It’s much more danceable and has punchier lyrics, which Loud has gotten us used to.

For Ya Cetidon, the call from an established artist like Loud – whom he calls “the legend” – came as a nice surprise. The latter praises Loud’s longevity in an industry and a style of music he finds “very difficult to sustain”.

Friendly love at first sight

For its part, The Montrealer Loud explains that there was so much click between them that they quickly had two songs in their hands. “It wasn’t planned at all,” he says.

A vibe, an energy, an absolute pleasure and a job done with simplicity and ease: Loud and his pal have only good words to describe the fruits of their meeting and composition sessions together.

“We really started from scratch. We got to know each other through conversations, we listened to music and sounds that we had already prepared and quickly agreed on what we wanted to do together,” says the interpreter from All women know how to dance and had to leave.

Between his participation in various festivals in Quebec (including the International Festival of World Rhythms on August 11th in Chicoutimi and a show in Sherbrooke on September 8th), in France and Belgium this summer and his work on new songs, of which an excerpt At the same time, Loud is preparing to present his “biggest show yet on European soil” at the Olympia in Paris on February 8th. He also promises to invite his new friend there.
