On the night of Friday the 13th, France went on “attack alert”, the highest level in the system, a day after a young Chechen stabbed a 57yearold teacher at the Gambetta Institute in Arras (north) last Friday the 13th.

French authorities say the former student, who has already been arrested, is suspected of Islamic radicalization. The government is also concerned about the impact of the war between Israel and Hamas in France.
