Billy Brown has revealed Love Island viewers didn’t catch all of the flirting that took place between him and Gemma Owen at the villa.
The 23-year-old, who was kicked out of the villa last week, insisted Gemma, 19, “got away easily” with what was shown between them, leading to a falling out between her and Luca Bish, with to which it is coupled.
Speaking to Roman Kemp at Capital Breakfast, Billy claimed Gemma initiated the flirtation by telling him he could always take her for a chat while they were at Casa Amor.

Host Roman said: “You said that when you were at Casa Amor, Gemma Owen, who was dating Luca at the time and they are still together, Gemma said something to you…”
“She did,” said Billy.
‘What did she say?’ asked Roman.
Billy replied: “Her first words were, ‘Pull me up for a chat if you want.’

Co-host Sian Welby said: “Oh! So she initiated it?’
Billy said, “Yes, and then I played hard and didn’t even drag her into a conversation.”
Roman then asked: “Do you think there was a lot more that we didn’t see with you and Gemma?”
‘Yes,’ said Billy, and Roman asked, ‘Really? Like what, chat?’
‘Just all the flirting, you didn’t see it all, they let her off easy!’ Billy answered.

After observing himself, Billly insisted there was nothing he would do about his behavior other than maybe talk to Gemma sooner than he did.
Sian asked, “You dated Tasha a bit [Ghouri] and Gemma, looking back on it now, if you’ve seen any of the old episodes…would you change tactics now? If you could go back in and do it again?’
Billy: said: ‘Nah! Definitely not. I think maybe pull her [Gemma] for a conversation at the beginning maybe.”
Sian asked, “Will you take her for a chat when she comes out?”
‘Nah! Don’t start it!’ Billy laughed.
Billy said: “Her first words were, ‘Pull me up for a chat if you want’
Billy also said if he had been at the villa from the start he would have been with Gemma instead of Luca, but added that they were “very attached”.
Sian said: “Gemma and Luca, they also recently became official. You must have seen it since then? What do you think of their relationship?’
Billy replied, “You know what, even in the mansion they’re very connected, so … they don’t just come off on screen like that, it actually is.”
Sian said: “Obviously we all saw the moment Luca got upset because he thought you were flirting with Gemma.
“It looks like Gemma really enjoyed it, the question I have because I know if you and Luca had gone in at the same time you’ll probably be leaning on that… think you’d have had a better chance against that Luke?’
“Oh yeah, game over,” said Billy.

Sian said: “No really, do you really think if you two had equal time you would have dated Gemma because of him?”
“Yeah, definitely,” said Billy.
Luca was seething with anger after seeing Gemma flirting with Billy during Casa Amor.
The second half of Movie Night featured a clip titled Good Bill Hunting of Billy and Gemma chatting at the mansion.
Billy questioned Gemma if there were any options open when it came to mating with someone else despite being a couple with Luca.
Luca was furious watching the clip: “Just bring me the damn bird and watch.

He added: “I can’t be with someone like that, I’m sorry.”
Later that evening, after the films had aired, Luca pulled Gemma in for a chat and said: “You entertained it”, to which Gemma replied: “No, I didn’t.”
Calling Billy to the fire pit to join them, Luca asked, “Do you feel like she’s flirting with you?”
Billy replied: “Yes it was just a flirty banter,” which prompted Gemma to interject: “Did we have a flirty chat? Yes.’
Luca replied: “But a minute ago you said you didn’t have a flirt chat, you literally said I wasn’t flirting.”
Fighting back: The second half of Movie Night saw a clip titled Good Bill Hunting, in which Billy and Gemma were chatting at the villa, but Gemma said she didn’t think Luca had anything to fret about when she got over it argued the clip
As the conversation continued, Gemma said: “I don’t think lines have been crossed.”
However, Luca did not back down, insisting that the real source of his anger was not that he had been flirting, but how he got out of the situation.
He explained: “I’m not mad that you were flirting. I’m angry that you made me look like an idiot when I dragged you into this situation.
Luca’s family took to Instagram Stories on his account on Monday to say they did not condone his behavior towards his partner Gemma.
Fans had urged Gemma to end her relationship with the fishmonger after he angered her for “flirting” with Billy on Sunday night’s show.
And his family have said that while he would feel “embarrassed” for his actions and will no doubt apologize, he does not deserve the abuse he has endured.

They say his demeanor doesn’t reflect the boy they “know and love back home,” but note his Love Island experience is intense.
They wrote: “I would like to apologize on behalf of Luca for his insensitive reaction to last night’s episode.
“I know that if he looks at it again he will be embarrassed and deeply apologetic.
“We as his family do not condone his behavior last night but we understand he is in an intense environment where his actions are amplified. Last night didn’t reflect the boy we all know and love at home.
“Please note that death threats and nasty comments are totally over the top and something we as a family should not endure. For this reason we have disabled the comments and messages.”
