Love Island's Davide Sanclimenti has insisted he never broke up with girlfriend Ekin-Su Culculoglu.
The couple rekindled their romance over the summer after publicly announcing they had split in June after 11 months together.
At the time, fans were shocked when they announced they had split after their success on the ITV dating show.
Davide, 28, recently opened up in an interview with OK! opened up about their relationship, revealing: “When we broke up, we were still talking to each other.” To be honest, we never really broke up – we always stayed in touch.
“But I think looking back now, I think the break helped us both understand each other better. “We have more understanding for each other.”

Explaining their reasoning, he continued: “Coming from a TV show, we had a lot of stress and pressure from the public – which is really hard when you're in a relationship.”
Previously, Davide revealed that his relationship with Ekin-Su had failed after they disagreed on various issues and that a temporary separation was “necessary”.
“It's a nice feeling to be with Ekin. We probably broke up more publicly but never privately because we were always in touch and the love between me and Ekin was always there,” he told The Sun.
“It can happen that someone breaks up, but that never happened to us. We never really broke up privately, it was more due to public pressure and we had a tough few months.”
The couple caused quite a stir when they were spotted leaving the ITV Summer Party together in July, not long after their split.
The couple were seen getting into the same taxi, but they decided to keep their rekindled romance a secret during the time.
Explaining why the couple wanted to keep their relationship on the down low, Davide claimed there were some things they needed to work on before going public again.
He added: “Of course there were some things we both wanted to work on.” Neither me nor Ekin were perfect in the relationship and probably needed a bit more communication and now I don't regret anything that happened because I feel stronger and I feel like we understand each other.”

Davide said he felt they had become stronger since reunification and that everything “happens for a reason.”

It came just days after the couple attended the premiere of Indiana Jones and The Dial Of Destiny together.
Davide wrote: “Ekin-Su and I are no longer together.” I am grateful for the memories and opportunities we shared and wish her nothing but the best.
“I want everyone to respect this decision during this difficult time. “I will continue to support Ekin in every way possible.”
Ekin-Su and Davide have been crowned Love Island 2022 winners after a whirlwind romance.
Sources also claimed that the couple left for a trip to Amsterdam but had difficulty repairing their relationship.
A source told The Sun: “They haven't been getting along for some time and have really tried to make it work, but despite their best efforts they have decided to break up.”
Davide also hinted that his relationship with Ekin-Su was on the rocks as he posted a shirtless snap suggesting he might be returning to the Love Island villa.
He captioned his post: “Guess who's coming back.”
This comes after Davide admitted earlier this year that he and Ekin-Su were having “issues” with their relationship.

Davide continued that the couple is still very romantic, especially because they have “the same background.”
“The best thing about dating Ekin-Su is that we get along — not just because we're literally the same person,” he continued. “She’s my copy-paste.”
