Love Island’s Samie Elishi describes the hospital admission and says her thyroid surgery to remove a lump has been postponed due to her illness

Love Island’s Samie Elishi has revealed that she was recently hospitalized and forced to delay her upcoming thyroid surgery due to illness.

The 23-year-old reality star shared a tearful video in April in which she opened up about a recent cancer scare when she discovered a lump on her neck.

Updating her fans about her surgery to remove the lump, Samie explained on her YouTube channel that she had fallen ill after her recent cruise.

Describing the horror at the hospital, she said: “I didn’t realize how bad tonsillitis could be, but on the cruise I was given an IV to give me food and water because I couldn’t eat or drink.”

“As soon as I landed I was supposed to go to the Beyoncé concert with PrettyLittleThing, which I was absolutely disappointed in, but I had to land and go straight to the hospital.”

Samie continued: “My mum and I went straight to the hospital and were checked up because the antibiotics I was on on the cruise wore off and I had to be hospitalized here.”

“So I was there almost overnight and basically didn’t know that you can’t have surgery if you have an infection.”

Samie went on to say that her illness has forced her to postpone her thyroid surgery, which is due to be done in a few weeks.

“My surgery was due to take place a few days later after the cruise, so it was postponed. Now it’s going to be the end of this month, so it’s pretty soon,” she said.

“I’ve also received such great messages telling me how helpful it has been for me to share my journey.” People have caught a lump in their throat and had it checked out.

“People have been sending me photos of the scars that have healed because I was worried about it, but I’m not worried anymore, I just want it to be behind me. ‘So yeah, the surgery is still going on, it’s just been postponed.’

Samie recently told her followers that fans had discovered a lump on her neck which doctors rated as ‘grade three’, meaning they can’t tell if it’s cancer or not.

She said: “There’s a 2-inch lump on my thyroid,” before revealing she was waiting for an operation where doctors could do a biopsy.

She also admitted she hadn’t released a detailed statement on her recent split from boyfriend Tom Clare due to her ongoing health concerns.

She told the camera: “It’s intense, me and Tom broke it up.” It ended on good terms. Nobody did anything bad to each other, there is still a lot, a lot of love there.”

“Outwardly it just didn’t work out and we agreed on most things.

‘There’s no bad blood there, me and Tom.’ I would never say a bad word about him, and he wouldn’t say it about me either.’

She added, “We just didn’t work outward.” I feel like when you come out of the villa you have so much pressure and so many other things to worry about that play a big part in a relationship.

“I thought Tom and I would live happily ever after, but life happens.”

She then tearfully discussed her upcoming surgery, saying, ‘Basically they slit your throat … I shouldn’t be upset because I’m so grateful that people wrote to me and now I realize it.’ I’m so grateful’.
