The state of Lower Austria will continue to offer free corona vaccinations as close to home as possible.

State Health Councilor Ulrike Königsberger-Ludwig (SPÖ) referred to this on Wednesday. Vaccines are provided free of charge in resident doctors’ offices, explained ÄKNÖ President Harald Schlögel in a press release.

Corona vaccination with adapted vaccine

Wastewater analyzes in Lower Austria showed that Corona would continue to be part of the infection process, said Königsberger-Ludwig. The vaccine adapted to the new variants can now be ordered and will arrive in orders within a few days.

“Regardless of the political majority in our state, it is my role as health advisor to provide the inhabitants of Lower Austria with the best possible information about how and where they can obtain the adapted corona vaccination,” added the SPÖ politician. The new and adapted Covid-19 vaccine Comirnaty Omicron XBB 1.5 will be used, Schlögel said.
