Luciana Gomenez posted a series of videos on her Stories on Instagram on Wednesday evening (8), after Leo Dias announced that her father João Alberto Morad who died in December 2020 had left an inheritance of more than R$ 2 million to an unknown Woman. It is worth noting that Luciana was the businessman’s only child.
“I wanted to understand how important my father’s death is to the media. Some journalists use other people’s shame to advertise. What does my father’s death mean to people? Nothing. Yes, my father died and I was an only child. I wanted to know, Mr Leo Dias, what does my father’s death have to do with you? Do you have a father? Does she care about the lives of others?” she began.
Already in tears, the moderator is questioning the limits of privacy that public figures should have. “I wanted to know if you would like to talk about my private life, about my father’s death. Do you enjoy speaking publicly about my father’s death? Do you think that just because a person is famous, he completely loses his right? any kind of dignity and privacy? For those who don’t know, my father had inventory money and people leave the money to whoever they want! And it’s none of the journalists’ business to talk about my father’s death!” he said.
“Just because I’m famous doesn’t mean I don’t have feelings, no, it doesn’t mean I don’t want to share them with anyone, doesn’t want to keep reopening that kind of wound,” Luciana continued.
Finally, the presenter defended her father’s decision. “It’s the climax, it’s the end! That was too low. It’s too low for you to grapple with the life of the late father, the late mother. For God’s sake go! I don’t need nobody’s money because I work honestly to earn mine. And my father has the right to do what he wants. And what he did is mine, my lawyers, what he did has nothing to do with you. I never have any money deserved by anyone. I kept it one thing from my father: love, respect, education,” she concluded.

Hours before Luciana Gimenez’s outbreak, Leo Dias reported that her father left an inheritance of more than R$2 million to a woman unknown to her family. The moderator, on the other hand, was left with only R$73,000, in addition to a social title from Esporte Clube Pinheiros, a 2009 Pajero worth R$35,000, 50% of the Tapajós agribusiness and another account R$326,000.
After the exmodel cried, the journalist shared an open letter defending herself on her social media.

“Dear Luciana,
Leo Dias’ column specifically notes that his late father’s probate note has no value judgment on the decision. The process in question did not take place in judicial secrecy and therefore any citizen could have access to the information.
We have to disagree with you on the relevance of the news. The article is about one of the most famous presenters in the country, who is in front of a variety and gossip program on RedeTV and precisely because of her notoriety, the column Leo Dias, covering the world of celebrities, decided to publish it.
A formal verification of the information would therefore not be required since, as we have already pointed out, the court decision is publicly available. It even says that the process was opened at your request. The column affirms the commitment to truthfulness in reporting information, respect for verification, and focus on newsworthiness criteria that guide the profession, as in good journalism.”
