The host Luciano Huck wished the President every success Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT), who had just taken office, during the inauguration of the programme Sunday, by TV Globo, on Sunday 1 January. The presenter also described the last few years as “difficult” with the constant threats to democracy Bolsonaro and the pandemic Covid19.
“Today we are opening a new cycle. With other, positive perspectives, with the opportunity to reconcile the country, to put the parts together, that we are again a country that you recognize in the other,” he enthused. Then he said: “2023 starts differently, doesn’t it? We Brazilians come from a series of very difficult, painful years. It was two years of the pandemic, with all its consequences for health, for the economy, for our wellbeing.”
Lucian He also spoke about the 2022 election campaign and anticipating change. “And after the most tense election year since redemocratization, with a very divided society and constant threats to our democracy, today we open a new cycle, a new year,” he concluded.
