Lucy Alves, protagonist of Travessia, the next 9 p.m. telenovela, has been open about her bisexuality and her relationship with producer Victoria Zanetti. The actress, singer and The Masked Singer finalist says she didn’t mind being caught kissing her girlfriend at a restaurant in Rio last month by a paparazzi or opening up about their romance based on the photos.
“I don’t usually talk about my personal life, but it was fine with me. Nothing new, a kiss came out. I’m a very private person. I think what bothers me is that it might seem like a very, very invasive thing. But I was fine, there’s nothing new. In fact, after doing interviews, I said I’m bisexual. It’s so weird to shock people these days,” she said in an interview with the Venus Podcast.
Lucy even made a public appearance with her new girlfriend on another occasion late last month, at a shack in Sapucaí during the Parades of Champions. She also reveals that she has received several messages from fans who were surprised by the romance.
“I even find it interesting. The more we talk… I even got interesting messages like, ‘Damn, Lucy Alves is kissing another girl, I didn’t even know she liked it…’. What a crowd! I feel less inferior. Then I thought that was cool. So for me it all served to show that we have to live our lives and if someone who has seen this interview of mine for example has doubts about their sexuality, don’t despair because everything is fine. We have to keep living, discovering ourselves… And not being afraid, which I think society is trying to smother us and label people,” he said.
