The Quebec public knew her in Fugueuse during the winter of 2018, which lasted two seasons. He’s used to her. Five years later, Ludivine Reding is still in full possession of her skills and intends to pursue her career at the same pace as her happiness. For them everything is a question of balance. On the one hand the profession; on the other hand love, family, friendships, travel, which are just as important.

Ludivine, how are you?
I feel very good. I’m thankful for the projects I’ve had lately and the ones I’m working on right now, like STAT, which is a big challenge for me. It’s intense! I’ve never had a daily newspaper, nor have I worked at this pace. I learn a lot. I am blessed to work with such a team! I keep doing dubbing, voices. I will be the voice of Lulu in the animated film Katak, the brave beluga, which will be released soon. I’m also an ambassador for a range of beauty products made in Quebec. Yes, I get a lot of great offers!

You would only have your part in STAT it was going to be a big year!
Yes, but it’s going well. I’m lucky because memorizing my lyrics has never been very difficult for me. I have a good memory, my rhythm, my routine. I get the lyrics, I take out my dialogues and rehearse with my friend, he helps me a lot. He’s very present. If not, I’ll ask one of my friends. I’m a fast learner, I’m very auditory.
After the success and popularity of run awayThey have to be content with interpreting a different kind of role…
First of all, I’m particularly grateful for what I’ve experienced and for the opportunities I’ve had thanks to Fugueuse. It’s really extraordinary! But to be honest, yes, it was good for me to come out of the victim role, not to have the image of the 16-17-year-old girl anymore. Even though I did a lot of great projects after that, people only talked to me about Fugueuse, we just referred to it. I’m looking forward to playing against an adult my age for the first time.

Were you afraid that your character Fanny would stick to your skin for too long?
I was always very optimistic about that. After Fugueuse I still worked a lot. I dubbed a lot, audio books. I’ve played in Cerebrum and Clash. But I was looking forward to another big project to be approached for another role. And I’m very happy about that. I like to find myself on a new set. I was a little impressed when STAT started. I’m the youngest and I play with big players. It’s intimidating, but at the same time I’m confident that we’re all in this adventure together. I see other actors as mentors. It’s a beautiful school unlike anything I’ve done before. You have to play fast, walk instinctively.

Ludivine, you are also present on social networks, including Instagram, where you are followed by more than 300,000 subscribers. Do you think you have influence through your image?
Not special. In fact, it was never my goal to have that many subscribers. I do this for my job as an actress. These are mostly photos from my travels. But I’m not going to start promoting everything. I agreed to work with the Oceanly beauty line made here but chose them carefully. I believed in it because I tried the products and liked them. I really like the morning beauty routine, it relaxes me. The products are biodegradable, ethically manufactured and accessible. It respects my values.
Aside from work, what is your life like?
It’s a nice, simple life. I’ve been at home, in my condo, for four years. My friend lives with me. We’d like to find a house, something bigger. We need an office, important for my friend’s work. I want to live in a bigger place, but at the same time I’m trying to be smart with my money. My friend works in the financial sector: I’m better thanks to him! In my life I need someone who doesn’t have the same background as me.
What does it bring to you?
It refocuses me on many issues and brings me a kind of balance. It provokes different ways of thinking on all levels…including finance! Money is not a goal, but it is never taboo for us. My parents were very present in this aspect of my work. You made my first investments. There have always been very open discussions. When I started working at the age of nine, I was still a child, I also lived my youth. It wasn’t just work. I have done many things, including nice trips.
Traveling is one of your passions…
It is essential for me. When I stay here there are always things to do or to be offered. I switch off completely when I travel. I make discoveries. I am grateful to be able to do this. I like the landscape. This summer we went to Albania with my boyfriend. For years the country has been off-limits to tourists and people are not too aware of its beauty. The people there are incredibly nice. We travel the same way, my friend and I, without planning too much, with our backpacks.
I recently saw that you let go of some of your summer memories. Your grandfather’s house in Teissières-lès-Bouliès, France has been sold.
Yes, just a few weeks ago. It did something to me. I’ve been going there every summer since I was seven years old. It was like an oasis of calm where I could recharge my batteries. My grandfather is a wonderful being. He decided to sell it while it’s still in good shape because he wants to do other projects. I made a post on Instagram, not so much to talk about the house – although we loved it, it was the location of our big family gatherings – but mainly to pay tribute to my grandfather. Part of my family lives in Belgium, but it was there, in France, that we met. I’m very close to my grandfather and my uncle too. Sometimes we spend the most beautiful moments with the people who are furthest away. We take our time to calm down. And it creates great memories.
are you a family girl
Yes. I also count my friends as part of my extended family. I think I’m a good friend too. You can count on me anytime and in any situation. I’m really there for my loved ones. I also really enjoy receiving people. It’s often improvised because I don’t make a lot of plans. I’m not the best at it and it’s not always easy with my job. It’s never complicated for me, but it’s always fun!
So you manage to receive people despite the demands of your schedule?
Yes, and I want! Filming for STAT, for example, ends on March 17th. I am taking a break. It will give me time for more personal projects. I’ve always needed balance in life. The utilization is not always the same, there is downtime. Every day is different and that’s what I like best about my job.
See STAT, Monday through Thursday at 7 p.m. on Radio Canada.
We can watch Season 2 again run away on VAT+.
